Hillside Sports Club is situated in the middle of the city and offers golf, tennis and bowls to members. The bar and restaurant are perfect locations to meet and entertain friends and business acquaintances. Visitors are always welcome and encouraged to join in with the local Mutare folk.

​

The 18 hole golf course was opened in 1911 and has an interesting and challenging layout which is highly rated. Over the years the club has hosted many well known tournaments including the Valentine Cup, Hillside Trophy, Filande and Oudemeester events.

​

The golf course is also a wonderful venue for walkers and and runners to exercise themselves and their dogs.

​

The bowling section has, in its day, had many wonderful competitions including inter-provincial events and highlight of each year is the Goldberg Trophy which has been played for since 1963.

​

Tennis has always been a popular sport in Mutare and the courts at Hillside have been played on by the best players in the country and even Lew Hoad and Ken Rosewall played here in their heyday !

The clubhouse has a wonderful view with a deck area overlooking the Bvumba and Cecil Kop range of mountains - perfect for sundowners !!
